Why delay parameters do not propagate to other clips?
in Deluge Help
My steps were as following:
- Created a clip with custom synth, then saved this synth as a preset
- Cloned the clip to the second one and changed the notes
- Cloned the clip to the third one and changed the notes
- Changed the delay parameters for the synth in the first clip (using pads, not knobs)
- The delay did not propagate to the second clip (as I understand, this is by design)
- So I saved the preset (overwritten the original one) - the delay did not propagate
- So I've opened the two clips and manually loaded the preset - the delay did not change
- So I've created a new synth preset (Shift + Synth) and then loaded the preset - the delay did not change
- So I've changed the oscillator types in the first patch, saved the preset - after that the oscillators changed in the two other presets, but delay stayed as it was (different than in the first patch)
Why doesn't the delay change even when I overwrite the preset and then load it in a different clip? Is delay setting per-clip, not per-preset?

once you use a preset in a project, that project has a custom version of that preset. so after overwriting the preset, it's not going to update the original preset because it's not technically linked to that preset specifically. if you were to make a new project and load that newly overwritten preset, the delay will be updated.
