in Deluge Help

Can you record a midi file being played on a pc to the deluge ? Can you send the midi to the Deluge? I can't remembger how to do this!
I have a couple of midi players and editors, and my Deluge is connected to the pc via USB, and the Deluge is showing in both input and output ports. But when I try to record the midi putput on the deluge, it never registers on the deluge. This ought to be easy. Do I really need to load up Cubase to play a midi into the Deluge?
