certain sample-based drums and synths have no sound

in Deluge Help
I’ve had my Deluge backed up back in 2019 or 2020, it was in version 2 point something. I updated it to the 4.1.4 newest official firmware. some of the sample-based drums and synths have no sounds. the samples are in my SD card, but it seems like the drum kit or synth doesn’t know which sample to use. What do I do?

couple possibilities:
1) file corruption that has XML files point to an erroneous sample location/filename
2) if this is occurring for just specific factory samples/synths, check this thread as there are some broken paths if you download the factory contents: https://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/comment/24085
for 1), you should check the XML file of the preset and search for the .wav file it's pointing to and locate the same .wav file in your SD card's contents and see if they are a match. if they are a match but they aren't playing then something else is afoot.
if they aren't a match, you can either edit the filename to make it match, or you can, while using the deluge, hold audition+browse and locate the sample's actual location to load the sample back in properly. after doing so, save over the preset so it's updated properly.
