Kits outputting midi?

I'd like to be able to swap the kits (or parts of kits) i have created standalone on the road with internal sounds/ samples to external drum machines/ modules when back in the studio. Synths tracks seems to do that job ok by keeping all the sequence when you press midi for a track, but doing this with a kit and then pressing midi brings 'clip not empty'. is there a way to do this? many thanks

this is a current limitation imposed in community firmware due to some obscure bugs that occur when switching clip type. for now you could zoom out to view the whole sequence, copy notes, then make a midi clip, adjust to the same zoom you were in when you copied, then paste the notes.
