It would be wonderful if MIDI clips could be named. That way the user can enter the name of the hardware synthesizer (and program name or number) associated with the midi clip. Name length of 128 characters would suffice. In song mode, pressing a grid pad would make the name appear next to the MIDI channel on the OLED display.
A different approach could be to link a 128 character name to the MIDI channel instead of to a clip. The name can be seen as a short note pad associated with the MIDI channel.
Such documentation lacks at the moment.

naming midi clips will be possible in the firmware after next (so 1.3). it's currently implemented in the nightly firmware, but needs some improvements to work and look as good as it should.
It's actually part of the next firmware release 1.2!
1.3 will allow you to label MIDI CC's

Glad naming MIDI clips is possible. However, naming Kit rows when they are MIDI or CV is not possible unfortunately. Would be great if that is made possible in a future community firmware release. Documenting is paramount when not using a computer as sequencer.
