midi help for new user, my suzuki qchord not recognized as controller by deluge

The instrument was made back in the 80's and sends all sixteen midi channels out all of the time. I need help getting deluge to recognize only midi notes from tracks 14, 15 and 16. The next thing is that Q (for quick) Chord also sends out the scale as one long note. I was able to fix this with nexus on ableton by changing the range of steps from 2 to 12 and then it sounded normal. I tried the auto scan and it worked once by somehow combining all of the channels but was terrible, later attempts to do the same have had less success. I appreciate any help I can get on this.

The deluge recognizes the QC-1 but this controller sends all 16 midi channels sumultaneously and no way to turn one off. The Deluge is receiving the three channels I play my chords on and combines with the other channels which are drums and melody and everything else. I am willing to pay for the script that will allow the deluge to receive midi channels 14, 15 and 16 ONLY and disregard what is being sent on 1 through 13.

anyone home? it says answers within 24 hours. Maybe I should have found a mentor. Is there anyone who can refer an online instructor for teaching deluge... It is more complex than i thought when I bought it. thanks for all your kind consideration

I saw that there was a lot of new midi functionality with the community's latest release so i updated and am trying to work it out on my own... school of hard knocks. It seems I may be able to assign a single channel to a clip or track and if so maybe i can assign three of them... I will continue to update my progress for the benefit of anyone who is interested

Maybe you could use the midi channels a,b and c in the midi follow options.

thanks for the great resource. I watched it through several times and took notes...
    i have explored the
SHIFT - SELECT - MIDI FOLLOW NEW FUNCTION WHICH YOU SUGGESTED MIGHT ALLOW MY CONTROLLER TO COMMAND DELUGE SAMPLER AND SEQUENCER.

    what happened was,

In CLIP MODE, I PRESS SHIFT AND TURN SELECT KNOB TO MIDI
PUSH THE KNOB TO SELECT IT
TURN IT AGAIN AND SELECT MIDI FOLLOW
    then
TO LEARN THE CHANNEL I TURN SELECT AND CHOOSE CHANNEL- CHANNEL A - HOLD PRESS LEARN AND PLAY ANY NOTE ON THE CONTROLLER

at this point in the video you say the

DELUGE OPTIONS MENU NOW should SHOWS - MEDI DEN PORTS CHANNEL 1
but on my 7seg, i cannot find this menu and am unable to assign discreet channels.
    what am i missing?

can i pay you to write a script that will shut off deluge importing channels 1-13

i can buy a custom cable that will mute out channels 1-13 but its a lot of money. I must be overlooking the function. Abletone lets me select the channel with no problem, but only when i use it through nexus and set the steps to 12 will it play in tune. Are there developers that write custom scripts. Its probably simple but it is too bad that my controller can only put out all 16 channels all of the time with no editable controls. It also sends out the entire three and a half octaves as one long note so the deluge plays out of tune. please help. upgrading to a monstro is an expensive option

this sounds like a unique issue for the qc-1 and other devices similar to it, like the omnichord (depending on how midi is implemented on it)

i happen to have a QC-1. i could try using it sometime this month with the deluge and see if there's a solution that doesn't require any coding. but i don't think the deluge can support receiving multiple channels of notes into one clip unless you are using MPE instruments.

Do you think the custom midi cable RK-002 made by retrokits will work? it has a duy script that is written into the cable for turning off (muting) individual channels and for $70 it may be cheaper than buying a custom script. It needs power but i am pretty sure the deluge will power it. When you hook up your QC-1 you will see the problem with the out of tune way the deluge learns the way the QC-1 sends out three and a half octaves as one long note... Your help is very much appreciated, again thanks.

I ordered the RK-002 with channels 1-13 muted. if it works it will have been worth it. I will let you know when it comes in next week. again thanks for your help

no luck with the RK-002 because the midi programmable cable needs midi power. The suzuki does not provide midi power. The deluge does not provide midi power as far as i have been able to find. I must say i am overwhelmed by the power of it and can't imagine it being long before a proper driver allows menu control on the pc as a device... an interface rather than 7seg but i will settle for a custom script. Next best guess would be to upgrade the RK-002 to the RK-008 which is a portable programmable USB MIDI HUB which provides midi power and allow me to mute MIDI channels 1-13. The hub is just under $300 more than the cost of the Suzuki QC-1 Quick Chord, is it worth it to go that route?

I ended up buying the RetroKit RK-06 midi hub and the RK-002 smart cable and that allowed me to mute channels 1-13 from the suzuki qchord, but the deluge does not play the chord correctly, it adapts the same note to all three notes in the chord and wont play the chord only a single same note on all three keys. Midi Follow is set to A 14 B 15 and C16. Is there a setting that i am missing or will i need a custom script or to just hold my breath for the next community release and hope the genius coders resoved the issue.
