Do Arturia midi controllers work?

Hi all, I bought an Arturia microlab for my Deluge, and can’t seem to get it to work. I tried a couple of different usb adapters and I think I followed everything in the manual: hold learn + audition + a keyboard key and the flashing lights should change, but nothing happens. I’d love to get it set up so I can have velocity sensitivity, after touch etc, does anyone have insight and advice? Thanks.

Im having the same issue with the minilab 3.

I have the Deluge powered with a separate power supply, and the Minilab connected via USB, which is then powering it.

The Deluge seems to recognize it is connected because Minilab shows up in the midi settings, but I cannot get the Minilab to control anything on the Deluge.

    Can anyone help?

For what it's worth, I've got a Keystep and a Minilab MK3 and they both work fine with the Deluge.

The new 1.1 community firmware makes a lot of this much easier too, as Midi Follow mode makes it all pretty seamless

How do you have them connected? If by USB, make sure you're powering the Deluge by an adapter as well and have them connected before powering on the Deluge

Have you used the "learn" function to tell the Minilab what to control?

    Thanks for replying.

Yes - at least I think so. With the Minilab 3 powered by the Deluge via USB (which itself is powered by its own power adaptor) then I turn on the Deluge, press the learn/input button and hit some keys/pads on the Minilab - but nothing happens.

I have tried just pressing learn once, holding it down, pressing it while holding shift - am I missing something?

You have to press the learn button + the button you're trying to get the Minilab to control. For example, if you want the Minilab to play the Deluge synth you're on, press learn + one of the audition pads, then play the keys of the Minilab and you'll see the audition pads flash white on the Deluge

If you have the community firmware, you have to go into the (midi follow) menu to learn the keyboard instead of 'learn' + pad + keyboard.

That's not true. I use the community firmware exclusively and the original learn+audition pad still works too

I didn't say the old behaviour didn't work anymore, but the new one is much faster as you don't have to unlearn constantly when switching to a new track.

We're both just trying to be helpful and maybe you didn't mean it that way, but your post said you have to go into the midi follow menu instead, which is confusing, as it's not accurate, so I figured it was worth clarifying for the folks having issues with their controllers

The vid from Ron Cavagnaro shows the new, preferred way of doing it,
which is going into the midi follow menu and add the keyboard from there:

My LEARN+AUDITION+MIDI key on external keyboard does not work on latest Community firmware 1.1.1. Tried it with Keysteps 32 and 37, and Qunexus (one at a time), none were detected but FOLLOW worked for a single keyboard to play whatever track I'm on. Not what I wanted as I want to allocate different synth tracks to each keyboard's selection of channels, not just play along with the currently selected clip on one keyboard. Seems a bit limited compared to official approach.
Am I overlooking something here? I tend to get lost in the Github pages as there's so much going on currently and no manual or 'all-in-one' page to search for all current functions in the Community firmware.

EDIT: OOPS! I must have connected the keyboard after powering up the Deluge! It's working ok now but still frustrating not having MIDI templates available and having to reprogram all those past projects...

EDIT EDIT: p.s. the Arturia Keystep function of SHIFT+NOTE 1-16 to change MIDI channels works really well when you change MIDI channel on the Keystep then learn it again to another track on the Deluge, just in case anyone has missed this great feature.
