My (non-OLED, firmware 4.01) deluge crashes consistently when I try to assign a custom parameter. Or perhaps I am doing it wrong?

Steps to reproduce:

  • Create New Song
  • New Kit
  • Press Custom 2/3 button to "arm" the custom 2 and 3 gold knobs
  • Turn on all notes of one row (eg, hat)
  • Press play
  • Shift->(Down 6, Right 9) to select "Decay" parameter (fails on other params too but this is how I discovered the problem)
  • Hold down "Learn" and turn lower gold knob
  • Deluge crashes (every time for me!)

Am I misunderstanding the directions for custom assignment? Thanks!

hm weird, i'm able to assign to gold knob as you detailed with no issues. what's the first kit that shows up for you? maybe it's worth trying to reinstall the firmware again?

Hmm, reinstalling the firmware did not fix the problem. Very strange...

SOLVED! It turns out my the mod wheel on my keyboard was stuck and so the deluge was being hit with a firehose of MIDI messages, causing a crash when I pressed the learn button. (smacks head) Thanks for the help!

This still shouldn't have crashed the deluge. So maybe a bug ?

I suppose, possibly a bug. It was actually the pitch shift that was stuck, not the mod wheel; not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks!
