how to play audio files NOT in sync, NOT on grid?

hey guys,
i'm having a brain freeze here and hoping someone can help me out:
I have an open form ambient piece with 7 audio files with different lengths, that Iβd like to play in an open feel.
What's the best way to play audio files NOT in sync?
so, to start and stop them at will and not on the grid.
Thanks

I would use a kit clip and the samples set to cut.
π ½π Ύπ π Έπ ²π ΄ π ³π ΄π »ππ Άπ Έπ Ύπ ½π Έππ?
yeah, what I'm doing at this point is is using kits, triggering samples with various playback modes, attack release, etc.
with all the different modes combined with playback direction, it might only be a question of time till a pause/resume functionality might be implemented in the firmware.
