Crescendo over reiterations of the loop

There is this very short loop playing at the song intro and it should start very quiet. By the time it reaches destination volume, it will have repeated multiple times.

How to achieve that in Arrangement mode?
When I try recording the increase during playback, automation gets recorded - and repeated over the length of the loop.

How to achieve the crescendo?
One way would be to see the number of bars the loop should play and duplicate the loop clip to match that length, then record the automation.
Is there a way which preserves the short loop?

    Best way I think:
Place the loop into the arranger and extend the clip, still in arranger view, by holding the clip and selecting how long in the arrangement you want the crescendo to last. Then press shift + the extended clip to turn it white. This makes it unique so the crescendo only happens in that place. Then record your crescendo within that white clip and that’s it! Original loop is still intact with no crescendo, which you can place after the white clip if you haven’t already.
