Is there a way to do a gated reverb snare?

Still a newbie to the Deluge so pardon any terminology mixups. I want to gate the reverb on a snare drum track, to get the stereotypical 80s drum sound. I can futz with the reverb but I can't for the life of me figure out how to do the equivalent of a gate. Anyone know if this is possible or if I'll just have to find a sample and use that?

Finding a gated reverb sample is probably the easiest.
But you can set some more extreme reverb settings and resample the snare. Then shorten the tail and play with the release time, mixing it in with the original dry snare.
You can also use the affect entire kit LPF to remove all dry snare before sampling the reverb.

Playing with that technique should get you close enough
