I could swear I read, or saw in one of Rohan's videos, that you can set a threshold level to trigger sampling. I cannot find it anywhere though!

Haha, I must have dreamt it then!
I guess the obvious question then is: are you able to implement it and is it planned?
It's not planned at the moment sorry.
