Preset six envelope retrigger?

Hi y'all,
On preset six (i'm on firmware 3.1.5) if you hold a press and hold a note, and then while holding it press another note, it sounds as if one of the envelopes does not retrigger. I.e there is no squelchy attack on the second note press. My understanding of envelopes is that they retrigger with every note press. Am i misunderstanding how the preset is designed / how that sound is created?

There are two monophonic modes under polyphony settings; mono and legato. You can change this with the polyphony shortcut.
Legato does not retrigger envelopes if notes overlap. And portamento is only applied when notes overlap.
In mono, every note triggers the envelopes and portamento is applied to every note, whether overlapping or not.
