Audio input level feedback for recording via screen or parameter knob lights

Hey, would be amazing to have a simple dB meter represented with numbers on the screen when recording audio through the input. Could be that you press shift and a goner button and it converts the screen into a sound level meter of sorts. Or alternately use the 4 parameter knob lights to give and idea of the volume of incoming audio as to avoid clipping but also to record at a good volume. Thoughts ?
