Is there a way to do endless recording for midi jam sessions?

1

I usually jam on a keyboard and keep going until something sounds interesting. I don't like to break the flow of things so I'll just keep going until it feels natural to stop. Is there a way to record midi notes on a track that does not end until you stop it? Not sure how others work but its a great way to find snippets of material one likes.

I would just make the track to be recorded in really long, say 32 bars or whatever, longer if you need more headroom, and record until you feel like stopping. Then just reduce the track length again.

That definitely could work. Seems like clipping down to the section you want might be a tedious task but at least there's the new function of shifting all notes left and right! Thanks!
