Interesting idea. Why not go straight for a Raspberry Pi, embedded in the side panel which doesn't have the battery in front of it? That could give you a more flexible solution to play with midi data and you would have midi bluetooth.

Good answer Just one thing, the standard X-touch, even though it has a USB hub, only transfers the data to a computer connected to the other USB port and not to midi.
