@Myrk said: muleskinner I don't think that covers the issues within this thread. Trigger pulses are also required to trigger analog drum modules - they rely off the voltage spike (so a peak and return) - in the current system the drums only trigg…

If there was a way of allocating a device as a 'master keyboard' that operated as you describe above that might work, but I think doing it on any midi input would be too fraught with issues.
-
I dunno about this - it sounds nice in theory but when you have a bunch of midi devices hooked up to the Deluge (as I do) it could get really confusing. I get confused as it is with 'midi echo' type issues!
-
I think most of the old samplers also had simple analog filters to filter out the aliasing and other artefacts that came from a low bit depth / sample rate and that they contributed a lot to the character. Same with vintage delays. A simple bitcrush…

Not sure what you mean by 'via a DAW'? I guess you could set up a CV 'instrument' to be controlled via external MIDI and that should do it - I haven't tried this though!
-
There's already a feature request that covers this (somewhat confusing titled) here. Search on this forum is terrible so we're getting a lot of duplicate requests for things just worded slightly differently but a lot of people have requested the …
-
Already requested here.
-
There's also a request for sending the modulators via cv and/or midi.
-
I agree - there is already a feature request for setting default note length which I think would cover this. It's a pita to keep zooming in to shorten notes for triggers (and sometimes you want them even shorter than 1/64).

@cypher79 said: Why can't the Deluge display letters like this? Because the Deluge display has far less components per letter. I find the display a pain when browsing samples, nothing else really - though the ability to label sections …

@darenager said: How for example if working in polymeters or outside of traditional verse/chorus/break would the scheme work? Sorry if I am missing something here. I don't really understand your question - in terms of the placement of par…

Was thinking exactly the same thing. I think a number to differentiate tracks and the track colour to differentiate instruments would be the clearest scenario for knowing what you're doing.
-
I posted a quick mock-up of how the setting a cycle region might work in the new arranger here.
-
Hi Rohan, Thanks for your input here, I know how busy you must be on 2.0! I was aware of the 'tail' on the arranger view and I guess my mockups are a bit misleading because they don't represent that. In practice though I find that the tail col…

There's already a well supported feature request for modulating sample start/end.
-
A big 'yes' from me. Somehow I missed this thread but I started one here that covers this and other issues with colours in the 'general questions' section. It makes much more sense to have a single colour per instrument IMO - this could pave the …
-
Agree - I often find myself wanting to do this. Maybe hold the note and do the 'shift all' procedure if that's not too much like playing finger-twister!
-
You can do the second on your list very easily - it's a simple procedure described in the manual. Personally the only one on your list that ever bugs me is the first one - you could get round this by the ability to default note length to the last…

Thanks for taking the time to read! @p_wats said: White instances: If it were to switch to track colours in arranger view how would you visibly account for white instances on a track? One-offs could stay white, but what about ones that you'…

Here's one I did using a larger font so I can read it. It's set up for 2xA5 so I could paste it into the notebook I use but I'll do it as one A4 if that's of use to anyone... Download

I started a more general discussion on this topic (ie not tied to a particular feature request) here. I'm just going to quote what I said from that thread regarding this suggestion below - basically I think it's a good idea but I don't like the f…

Possible Arranger Solution #1 Ron has suggested one 'fix' for this which is to allow the user to set colours for instruments. These colours would be displayed on the mute buttons and would remain consistent between arranger, section and track view.…
-
Ah - I get you. You mean change the mute column in all views, in your original post I thought you just meant in the arranger view.
-
Just wondering - why use the mute column rather than the audition column for this?
-
I agree with pretty much all of this but I wouldn't have looping automatically overdub - instead I'd have it create new sample lanes with each loop (same file, different start/end points). This way you could use it for overdubbing, recording alterna…

Nice idea!

I think most people here know how to do this, they are saying it's a bit of a PITA having to set up this 'fake' synth with a drone note etc. Most samplers I've used have at least three sampling modes - standard 'hit record' (as the Deluge has now), …
-
I dunno why anyone downvoted this but I think it's a good idea and was going to request something similar. It's really important for sending trigger signals to modular when you want the trigger to be really short but you don't want to be working …
-
I agree - it's one of the first things I thought of when using the new arranger. You could do all of this (and much more) with some kind of extended 'cycle' functionality as requested here
-
More thoughts on this after playing with the new song arranger mode - I couldn't stop thinking about how awesome it would be to do loop/cycle region from the arranger view. * Have a new type of track in the arranger view, a 'cycle track' * Use…
