I guess the confusion is because the Deluge tries to be both a Sequencer and a Synth Engine. I expect Sequencers to have an Arp feature, ( which is obviously independent from the synth engine ) and send arpegiated midi notes to either an internal or…

@amiga909 I'd encourage you to play the default patches on a velocity sensitive controller, without editing anything an you'll be surprised how many over them go into overdrive/distortion mode when there receive a midi velocity above 64. As other…
-
Most synth have the velocity mapped to modulate the VCA ( real or virtual ) from 0 to the Maximum VCA level set in the patch, which means they will never distord unless that was the intention of the sound designer in the first place. I think the pro…

I think it would make more sense for the keyboard to appear while in song mode ( which would mean that song mode would finally get a "currently selected" track so effects can work without having to hold on a pad ) then you could be in song mode with…

Actually this is a missing feedback of every single feature controlled by a gold knob. the only feedback is the highly inaccurate 4 segment bar LED. Having a temporary display when the dial is being moved would be incredibly useful. ( there's anoth…

I had a similar request because during a live performance, I can't stop the sequencer/controller, so can't control everything that travels on the same MIDI port ( not channel ) as the Deluge. Also having a feedback so you can inspect and confirm wha…

I agree. having a few more options for the keyboard view would be awesome. Also changing the colors of a track because I switched on the keyboard view for it is really confusing
-
the synth engine correctly receives velocity over MIDI, but yeah, none of the buttons are velocity sensitive. they are just switches, and can only detect on and off states.
-
I can imagine a world, where multiple keyboard layouts co-exists...

By blocks of tracks, you'd want to manipulate the whole set of related tracks for a part ( chorus, bridge, ... ) all at once? so if you had the usual Drum,Bass,Rhythm,Melody on 4 separate tracks, you want to manipulate them in the arranger view as a…

Thanks, using "browse" instead of "load" keeps the MIDI assignment. Great! ( although I think load should also keep it. I can always delete, then load if I want to reset the MIDI learn ) Still would like to audition sample while the track is play…

Do we have to go check out each other's profile?
-
A microtiming feature could do that - but the grid is a much better interface than having to hold down a note and turn a knob, and it shows you precisely where the event is. So for the Deluge zooming really is more practical, I think. IF you…
-
you can still use a 16th step grid and want to slightly offset things to get that humanized feel. having to zoom to do it is a particular Deluge quirk, but one could imagine being able to shift notes without having to zoom all the way to the resolut…
-
don't know about the Elektron, but on the Pyramid, the note offset is expressed in percentages. 0% is the current step ( at whatever zoom level you are ) -100% is the previous step, +100% is the next step. So you can make timing adjustment without h…
-
+1 this is why I still think the Pyramid's step input mode for chords is just so much faster than the Deluge. Effectively you have a simple note chord buffer that remembers the last note ( or chord ) played, either from an external controller or …

I can't upvote my own poat, so i upvoted yours... ;-)

Hmm I opened it up and looked up the parts?

The Deluge has a single ( high quality ) stereo DAC. so you can only have a single audio output. it's a hardware limitation, and won't change
-
Having an option to quickly switch between a paged and scrolled view for all mode ( track / song / arranger ) would be great. Either has a true follow ( the cursor stays centered, and the view scrolls one step at a time ) or a paged follow ( where t…

@amiga909 said: Deluge allows to route its midi out back to its midi in. using the arp on the midi track u can for example have that arp playing every synth preset. Good workaround but not the same as an actual feature. I got caught a few…
-
Agreed, I do the same thing with the Pyramid, controller is set to ch. 1, and is automatically routed to the active track. Same thing with the Elektron's auto-channel, so you can control how the routing works.
-
I agree. that's the way I'm used to it on the Pyramid as well. being able to few a pattern at a certain zoom level, but still be able to do smaller than a current step changes to note lengths and offsets, means that you can work much faster. constan…

So since playing a 2nd note in AUTO mode will switch to POLY mode and start a 2nd voice engine to play that note, and when in either MONO, AUTO, or even POLY a single not only use a single voice engine, the only thing I can think of that could be di…

Internal routing rather than MIDI would be more useful. Set track as a transpose "slave", set another track as a transpose "master" and this way the feature also work in song an arranger mode, rather than live. Also don't forget that a lot of us use…
-
Agreed. setting a specific auto channel ( see the feature on the Elektron Digitakt, for example ) makes more sense than just sending all unassigned midi channels to the current track. Imagine what would happen if an external sequencer, rather than a…
-
That makes no sense. Doesn't every single polyphonic algorithm use only a single voice ( virtual or not ) when a single note is used? There must be something else going on...
-
Actually I also got a mild electric current with the Deluge on my lap and powered from USB. power was from a good quality ANKER USB charger, so I doubt its the culprit. ( and it was a heat wave, so I was wearing shorts, ok? )
-
* no the DAC the Deluge uses only has two in and two out channels. everything is wired to that ( 1/4" right/left, headphones, internal speaker ).
-
I'm pretty sure what @atimchak is asking for has nothing to do with "white instances" they are asking if you can hit record in arranger mode, flip back to song mode, and start cueing mutes of individual tracks and track groups. As you do that, the c…
