  • Ability to delete presets and samples

I'd like to be able to delete presets the same way as songs, by pressing delete (with the sound editor open I guess). It would also be nice be able to delete samples the same way, by pressing delete when previewing in the sample browser.

  • Horizontal track shifting

It would be nice to be able to rotate the notes horizontally sort of like a shift register. This is a very powerful tool to have when editing a track. You can slide all the notes for syncopation, you can shift a two-bar loop (or longer), so the first and second part switch places, and if you only like the second one, you can slide it over and then shorten the loop.

  • Unquantized recording/note offset

Sometimes you really want to capture the groove and feel of a beat or a synth line. It would be great to have the Deluge (optionally) record unquantized notes. I also believe this would help the Deluge be recognized as a professional piece of kit, and much more of a contender with DAW sequencing or hardware sequencers like the MPCs or Pyramid.

This could possibly be implemented fairly easily by recording exactly the same way as now, but give each note an offset percentage (which would appear in the display) from the current grid resolution. This way, editing notes would be the same, you'd just be able to edit an additional parameter.

It would also be fairly easy to do a post-record quantize by setting all the offsets to zero, or even partial quantization (tightening up a bit) by reducing the offset by some percentage. If it was done more as a filter than an update, the quantize could even be non-destructive.

  • Option to follow playback marker at higher zoom levels

It would be nice to have the screen scroll along with the playback marker at higher zoom levels, both in track mode and song mode. Preferably, this would be something you could switch on and off without diving into the settings menu.

  • Different Kinds of Reverb

Also see the Oliverb in the alternative Parasites firmware for Mutable Instruments Clouds:

(clouds folder, I presume, but note the licensing)

  • Pressing record not starting the sequence.

Would love to be able to arm recording and start on the first note.

  • New song section mode - more than one pattern per song using the same tracks

I fully support a macro-level arrangement view of some sort. In nearly every sketch I've had so far with multiple sections, I've had to duplicate tracks that are the same across sections. Also, with many tracks, the song view can get messy.

Now, there is already a feature where you can set a section to SHARed mode (hold section pad, turn select anticlockwise). Arming a shared section will not cut off a section that is playing (or armed to play), unless it shares a preset or kit (then only the relevant track is cut off). This allows you to avoid duplicate tracks, but it also requires more interaction, because arming a new section will cut off a shared section, and you have to re-arm the shared one if you want it to continue playing. And if that section is the first of many, you have to scroll up and down to re-arm it as you progress in the arrangement.

As a solution that may or may not cover OPs needs, I'd like to propose more section modes. A "HARD share" or "MANUal" section mode, where arming a new section will not cut off the shared ones (you'd have to stop them explicitly) would do wonders!

If this is too off-topic, I can make a separate feature request. An arrangement view would be nice in any case.

  • Ability to delete presets and samples

Yes, I know I can delete presets from the SD card, but it's tedious to note down the numbers and all that. It seems logical to be able to delete presets as described above, especially as they can add up quickly.

Being able to delete samples the same way is especially useful when sampling. You might have multiple takes, and should have a built-in way to clean up afterwards.
