  • Conditional Notes/Triggers

It would be awesome to have the option to add a probability to each note/trigger. The user could choose between a percentage to pick randomly (33%, chance to play that note/trigger is 1/3) or a fraction (1/4 - note/trigger plays once and then not for 3 times).

The Elektron Rytm has that feature and it adds so much to the sequencer (also saves from the need to make long sequences to leave out notes/triggers every x-th bar).

  • Midi CC Patching (LFO/ENV/...)

It would be amazing if we could do the same patching on the assigned Midi CCs on a Midi track as we can do on the synth/drum tracks. For example put an LFO onto the CC of my hardware synths frequency or have a random value for each note's noise cc (through Midi onto my synth).

  • Cpu meter or overload warning

It would be great to be able to check visually if the CPU is getting overloaded. The deluge does a great job of switching off less important things first. That also makes it hard to realize when things start to disappear. So either having a warning somewhere, or using one of the LEDs blinking or allowing a button combination to show the current CPU load on for example the audition pads would be great!

  • Please ban Alien_brain from this forum

I am proposing to ban Alien_brain from this forum. Please upvote if you think so too.

Single reason which should cause this:

    • Use of the word faggot ("What a faggot") when flagging a discussion. The word faggot comes from comparing gay people with wood to start a fire and is highly insulting.

    Other reasons:

    • Doesn't treat other users with respect (forum rule 1)
    • Lots of irrelevant posts / spam. Starts filling up useful discussion with his - in most cases - irrelevant opinions and destroys the discussion by doing so (forum rule 2)
    • Insulting and flaming, personal attacks (forum rule 3)
    • Petty and infantile (forum rule 4)
    • Has used a sexist avatar (photo of a naked woman painted as a cow) - forum rule 6
    • discrimination on the basis of sexuality (see above) - forum rule 7

    Examples below:

waaaah you huuuurt my feeeewings fuck off.

whaat? is this a communication from the untouchables to all the useful idiots? to what do we owe this privilege?

    too many monkeys in here

still missing the point. theres too much noise around here anyway, who can blame you tho? its not your fault that you dont understand my point. either that or you are being daft. wow. im dumbfounded. aghast. how could you miss such a glaring…

does this guy add anything to a conversation ever? you must be one of them random lovers boy! go play with your breakbeat slices an probability. you got it, you wanted it, now go show us how its done. thank you for your time.

  • Aftertouch (to CC)

Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I got it, the Deluge doesn't react to incoming Midi aftertouch as of now. It would be great to have that added. It adds some much expressiveness to the sound when you are able to control specific parts of your sound (filter, LFO rate, etc) by just changing the pressure you put onto your key or pad.

  • Filename Scrolling

If I didn't miss anything, the Deluge currently only displays the first 4 digits of any filename - no matter if it's longer or not.
Could we get a way to either use the <>-wheel to scroll through the letters or get autoscrolling, so the filename starts rolling through by itself ('NICK' > 'ICKE' > 'CKEL' > 'KELB' ... or 'NICK' > 'ELBA' > 'BACK' [hope this didn't disqualify the request]).
Its really a lot of work to rename all samples to 4 letter identifiable version.
Let me know in case I oversaw something!

  • slice sample (loop) to drum track

It would be great if there was the option to take a sample (probably a loop) and automatically slice it up and put it over 8/12/16... parts of a drum track. Basically just setting the file path to each part and modifying the start/end so it ends up being aligned slices.

    Advanced version:

    • give the option for the automatically set end point to be either a.) start + 1 slice length or b.) end of sample or c.) set sample to loop back and play until reaching start again. For cases b/c choke on all tracks should be set to on by default
    • check that slice points are at zero magnitude to avoid cracks
  • Deluge Kit Generator

(this was posted on the Deluge Facebook Forum but thought it would be good to add this here)
    Hey people!
I wrote a little script to build Deluge drumkits for me. It scans the folder from which it was launched at, will create a /delugekits subfolder and fill it with the kits (one kit per wav-subfolder it finds). I wrote this for myself (pretty low tech Python) but thought I'd share it. Don't expect a fleshed out UI.
It'll try to put the bassdrum onto 1, then snare, open hihat, closed hihat, rest of sounds, then loops.
PLEASE READ THE "README-PLEASE.txt" INSIDE OF THE ATTACHED ZIP FILE!
Lee Pe had posted the '66 Drum Kits' package the other day. Unfortunately all files are just number. The script would work like that. But you can also run rename66.exe first. That'll go through the folders and rename the .wav files based on the folders names.txt. After that you'll have good short names on each drumkits sound and bd/sd/chh/ohh nicely sorted.
    So...easiest way:

    • copy the content of the attached zip-file into the "\66 Legendary Drum kits" folder.
    • run rename66.exe.
    • run build.exe
    • copy all subfolders onto the SD card into /SAMPLES/6LDk (=auto proposed short folder name - see help file)
    • copy content of /delugekits onto the SD card into /KITS
Enjoy your 66 new drumkits starting at 100.
Oh I should say: Even though this doesn't do anything crazy, you'll run it at your own risk (renaming the 66 drumkit's wav-files would be the most invasive, apart from that it just generates the xmls)
      Here's a screenshot:
  • Midi Programmer's Mode

In Midi mode offer an optional setting where the Deluge spits out a Midi note for any pressed pad (1-128). Receiving Midi-In notes on the same channel would trigger that same pad to light up in a specific color. (Sequencing would be ignored in this mode on this track as the user would take care of it reading the midi clock.)
E.g. when track set to Midi channel 7: Pressing the 10th pad in the bottom row would trigger 'Midi Note: On / Track 7 / Note: 10'. User could now send the same information from his computer to light up that pad red 'Midi Note: On / Track 7 / Note: 10 / Velocity: 19' (in case 19 means dim red).
This way we could build custom midi software which could use the (amazing) pad grid of the Deluge for input and output. Someone could also write a custom script to use the full pad layout in Ableton for example.
Similar to Launchpad's programmer's mode. Here is their reference (examples on and after page 18) https://d2xhy469pqj8rc.cloudfront.net/sites/default/files/novation/downloads/10598/launchpad-pro-programmers-reference-guide_0.pdf

  • Loop Screen / Cycle Region

Yeah this would help a lot. I think the implementation could go along with the option to shorten track by bars.
It would be great to have a mode where you press a button to get into 'bar-mode' directly (=4/4th), which gives you one lit button per bar in you track, then you can enable/disable/remove each bar separately.
The difference to the regular 1 bar zoom out is that a.) you get there directly without dialing the zoom level and b.) disabling won't delete the notes but ignore the bar when playing and c.) would give you the option to change the length of the track by deleting bars in a whole.
This would allow the user to just work on one bar without having to wait on it for the whole track to get back to it AND allow to shorten tracks without running into the issue of having odd-length parts and your melody to get off beat (which will cover a different issue / feature request).
    Hope this makes sense.
