keyboard mode hide keys that are out-of-scale (like push or scale mode on novation devices)

Ableton Push, Launchpad and novation circuit all sport scale view where keys out of scale are NOT visible. Why deluge cannot do this.

Doesn't it do this already if you select a scale and root note? The pads change to reflect the key/scale you've selected.

You still look at wasted pads.:) If it works like push/launchpad scale mode ... you would not see those pads so you could play more than 4 octaves or you could even have a split so both hands don’t need to be crucked while playing... Guitar neck (which i think current keyboard mimics) is a different story... You'd ALWAYS play the neck with one hand.

No, it just lights them up if they're in the scale. They're still there and you can still play every note.

If you didn't have "wasted" pads, all the chord/interval shapes would be different, defeating the advantage of the isomorphic layout. Might as well just use a piano keyboard.

Now, a switch to disable notes that are out-of-scale might reduce unhappy accidents...

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't want to change the isomorphic layout. Learning the chord shapes and applying them in that view has been very useful.

Maybe a different view entirely would be needed to accommodate a view that removed the 'wasted' notes. I wouldn't want to disable them in isomorphic view though, as it's nice to have the flexibility to play outside of a chosen key (maybe a button combo to disable/enable out-of-scale notes should you choose?).

Maschine jam has the option to show or hide the "out-of-key" notes, but keep isomorphic layout

I can imagine a world, where multiple keyboard layouts co-exists...

great idea, i've been rooting to have a "collapse" function too.
imho this relates to an already upvoted request http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/284/true-custom-scales#latest
