about to buy Deluge, we have some questions

1) Is the MIDI timing tight when syncing with other gear?
2) Does the arpeggiator output MIDI notes?
3) What is the polyphony per track?
4) Inside, for instance, an 8 bar pattern- can bar 3 be looped to be worked on without having to listen to 8 bars every pass?
5) What sample rates and bit depths can be used for imported samples?
6) Do the effects sound good?
7) Does the build quality give you confidence?

    1. yes it sounds tight.
    2. yes
    3. "Polyphony limited only by CPU. Up to 48 unaffected synth voices or 64 unaffected sample voices may play simultaneously" ( from the Product description )
    4. No but: http://forums.synthstrom.com/discussion/74/loop-screen-cycle-region/p1
    5. high .. .but maybe some one knows the upper limit ?

    Ditto to what @dest4b said
    I like the decimator a lot, and the delay is mental how fast it it can run, though bpm sync could use some attention.
    Its solid.

    Hey everybody-
    Thanks so much for the help!
    Great answers, just what I was hoping for. I’m especially surprised and happy the arp outputs MIDI, that isn’t always the case.
    I have to wait a few weeks before I can order, I’ll be reading the manual through and watching all the videos while I try to be patient. I’m excited about it.
    Thank you!

    I can understand being really happy with a great piece of gear. Everyone has different needs. I'm coming from using a Pyramid, there are many work-arounds with that sequencer.

    When I saw the superbooth video where Ian explained the new song mode and how simple it was to create unique patterns I knew I had to have a Deluge.

    Hi @pfrf! @dest4b's list answered a lot - I'm just jumping in to answer number 5: the upper limit is 32bit, 96k :smile:

    @Sam
    Wow, that’s fantastic, thanks!
    What is the resolution of the sequencer in ppqn? Is it 192?

    yeah, specs say so. there is a setting to record without quantize. for editing on the grid max depth is 1/64th triplet. which is well enough i reckon. even smaller note divisions dont make sense on a hardware grid controller, lack of space i guess.

    @amiga909
    Thanks for the information. 192 is great because it’s easy to sync to Logic’s swing settings. I’ve had trouble before trying to get two pieces of gear to swing together, this should work perfectly.
