How to deal with CPU overload?

My songs tend to exceed CPU lately. Note cuts and sometimes audio clicks occure.
Resampling helps a lot of course. Much better to keep synths and kits tweakable though.
Dont have more than a few vague clues how to save CPU:

  • Delay Analog to Digital
  • Polyphony to Auto instead of Poly.
  • Polyphony to Mono if possible
  • Resample polyphonic synths ("chordy stuff")
  • Resample timestretched kits

How dou you cope with CPU overload?

Watch the Unison setting too. Also, set important things' Priority to high (shortcut found right by Polyphony).

Fortunately, Rohan has made some big changes to RAM management in the next upcoming firmware update which will be a great improvement :)

@Icoustik great to hear ram management is still able to be addressed and is. Any idea when the firmware is going to drop?

Yes, this is being worked on with a huge improvement in the next firmware release. We'll be showing off some new features at Superbooth (May 3rd), but it is unlikely we'll be ready to release it by then, this is a big update.

does smbdy know what the AUTO polyphony setting does?
manual: "POLYphony - may be set to POLYphonic, MONOphonic, AUTO (behaves mostly as monophonic but won’t stop you playing chords)"
did notice a rather big CPU save, did not seem to change anything audible?

@amiga909 Basically, it's halfway between mono and polyphonic. It lets you play more than one note at the same time, but will cut the current notes at the next note event

    thanks for the help.
Icoustik: nice, overlooked that one, had 2 presets with unison=8 in one song. changed to unison=2, the song runs now like a cheetah.
