Now available from The MIDI Association, the complete MIDI 2.0 Specifications are ready for you to download and read for free.

You do have to be a MIDI Association member, but membership is also free, and anyone who uses MIDI can join. All you have to do is sign up here and download the documents here. Documents include the MIDI Specification 2.0 Overview, MIDI-CI Specification, and three other files in PDF format.

Even if you’re not a member, you can read an informative description of the specifications here.

    Not. Unless the deluge supports it, you can't do or use the midi 2.0 spec on it.

    Only if developers decide to support it.
    Currently the only one which is ready to support is the Roland A88 mk2.
    Why no more products, even from Roland ? Maybe too much work ?!

    ROLI has committed to supporting the MIDI 2.0 "MIDI-CI" standards moving forward.
    Bitwig is prepared for it already.
    Ableton is committed and has contributed directly to the standard.
    The Steinberg VST 3.7 SDL includes MIDI 2.0
    The rumor is Apple is way ahead on this already for Logic and it's entire AUv3 framework.
    The EmbodMe Erae Touch ships in May 2021.
    And so on.
    It's coming, and coming "soon", but will take several years for it to be implemented across the entire gigantic industry.
