Background noise generated by Mac mini usb to Deluge connection

A few days ago I noticed that I had background noise coming into my analogue mixer from the Deluge. It was pretty bad but exceptionally so when I was running my DFAM using gate out from the Deluge with audio in on my mixer. Unusable bad. Since nothing had changed in my setup I thought a faulty cable was the problem but before I had pulled to many I tried unplugging the USB cable that powers the Deluge. Silence. It turned out that my Mac mini was causing serious background noise and artifacts, especially through the gate out. I haven't changed anything in my setup lately except for updating the OS on my computer. Weird!

Anyway, the solution was to connect the USB cable with an adaptor instead. So if you're having background noise issues, try unplugging the USB cable!
