SEPARATE MIDI OVER USB

11

It would be pretty funky if we could get a completely separate 16 MIDI channels over USB (making a whopping 32 total MIDI tracks)
I would kiss a llama.
Maybe.

    Is this not possible?

As far as I know, "midi" sends to both.

I hope to receive mine tomorrow,
But I assumed that usb and 5 pin midi is seperate, like it is on the Pyramid. Not a big problem for me though, but +1!

It does have a separate midi port (in and out) plus USB-- but I was under the assumption that midi channel 3 (for instance) will send that information over BOTH usb (as midi) AND midi (as midi)-- essentially sending duplicate data over 2 cables. I'm suggesting that they be different.

It could be nested under "Midi". You could dial the first 1-16 which would port to the midi DIN plug and the next would be U1-U16 which would be routed to the USB plug, making a grand total of 32 possible externally controlled devices.

+1 this way you could reload batteries over USBof computer (if USB-MIDI is disabled) without interfering MIDI-traffic coming/going to computer
